Auditions (Dates TBC*):
Thursday 15th May 7.30pm information/help night
Sunday 18th May during the day- 2.30pm
Monday 19th May (evening)
Thursday 22nd May if needed for call backs.
(*Children’s auditions may differ slightly- details to be confirmed)
Rehearsals to start Monday 2nd June.
About the Director:
I'm thrilled to be directing Nativity! The Musical. With over 30 years of teaching in Prep, Primary, and Nursery schools, my passion for this production grew after directing two Nativities in one year- one in a Prep School and one in a Primary School. During this time I also discovered the magic of the Nativity films with life mirroring art!
As a Primary School music teacher and music therapist, I’m excited to bring this heart warming show to life, involving both children and adults in a creative, intergenerational experience. The show also features a friendly dog! I am absolutely delighted that Invicta Youth Theatre YT93 led by the fantastic Chrissie Yates, will be involved in this wonderful production. Nativity! The Musical- What’s the show about?
Nativity! The Musical follows the students at St. Bernadette’s School as they attempt to stage a musical version of the classic Christmas story, led by their exasperated teacher, Mr. Maddens, and his eccentric assistant, Mr. Poppy. The chaos escalates when Mr. Maddens promises a Hollywood producer will be in the audience, eager to turn the show into a movie. Expect festive fun, laughter, and plenty of sparkle as the kids work to make their Christmas dreams come true.

*Paul Maddens- A teacher at St Bernadette’s Primary School- he’s trying to produce a Nativity play that will, for once, outdo a rival school
*Gordon Shakespeare- A teacher at Oakmoor School, Paul’s long-term rival
*Jennifer Lore- Paul’s ex-girlfriend- she left him to move to Hollywood
*Desmond Poppy- Paul’s new teaching assistant- childlike and enthusiastic. Mrs Bevan’s nephew
